Lee’s Crossing

Monthly Newsletter                                                            September  2011

Dear Neighbors,

I hope this letter finds you and your family well and enjoying the end of summer.  The temperatures still remain up in the 90’s with no relief in sight.  The Board has approved keeping the pool open one more weekend past Labor Day weekend.   The pool hours for Sep 9-11 will be Fri 4-9pm, Sat 10am - 9pm and Sunday noon – 9pm.  The pool will be closed Tue, Wed, Thu (Sep 6-8).  The Labor Day Pool Side Celebration will still be held on Sept 5th.  Stay cool out there!

Regarding the Traton Home development adjacent to the Lee’s Crossing properties, I want to encourage every resident that backs up to the Traton development to take pictures of the trees within 25’ of the property boundary.  Traton recently cleared a couple of lots right up to the boundary. Traton is required to leave trees within this 25 foot buffer that are 4” or greater in diameter at chest height.  It is imperative that there are photos to provide evidence of what existed if Traton clears more lots and does not leave the trees in place.  Marietta City was contacted by the resident and the Board to report the activity. The city Code Enforcement office and Griff Chalfant (our city councilman) responded quickly to inspect what had been done and contacted the developer to make sure they abide by the zoning requirements and stipulations.   Unfortunately there were no clearly defining photos of the buffer where the lots were cleared.  Traton is still required to plant the buffer with a row of Cryptomeria and Cedar but that may not be as nice as the natural trees. The buffer is needed to protect property values and screen the development from your view.  If you are unable to takes pictures or need some assistance please contact me and I will make arrangements to help.

I want to thank everyone regarding the dogs running loose or getting out in the neighborhood.   I have not received one complaint over the past month.  Keep up the good work.

Lastly, I want to let you know we are losing one of our Board members and neighbor.  Joe Fenton and family are in the process of moving to Texas to be with family.  Joe joined the Board last spring, and even though his term has been cut short I want to thank him for his insight and service.  He and his family were also active with the swim team and they all will be missed by many.  We can only offer you our best wishes in your new home.

Thank you everyone and have a relaxing Labor Day weekend.

If you should ever have any comments or concerns, please do not hesitate to call me. My home phone number is (770) 499-9354.
