Lee’s Crossing
Monthly
Newsletter November
2011
Dear Neighbors,
I hope this
letter finds you and your family well.
The fall colors are beautiful, but unfortunately it will not last much
longer.
If you are on the
Lee’s Crossing e-mail distribution list, you have seen notices about the
variance that Traton Homes has submitted for the Rockford Township development
adjacent to our subdivision. For those
of you that have not seen the notices, the variance request is to reduce the
number of trees the development is required to have and appears to reduce the
size of one of the “Tree Save Zones” from the original Elliot development. The variance will be reviewed by the city
council at the Nov 7th council meeting. The Board has been
discussing the issue with our city councilman, Griff Chalfant. We are hoping that this issue can be resolved
prior to the council meeting, but if not, some members of the Board will be
attending the meeting to present arguments against approving the variance. The Board’s position is to maintain the
original tree preservation and planting plans Elliot had submitted to the city.
There have been
multiple reports of people speeding at the front of the neighborhood going
around the big bend. This has resulted in mailbox and street light damage. In addition to the damage, there have been
some close calls with opposing traffic.
There are small children that live near the front of Lee’s Crossing, and
speeding creates a very dangerous situation for these families. Please be considerate, watch your speed and
share this information with any teen drivers you may have.
Included in this
newsletter is the proposed five year budget plan. Please feel free to make any comments or
recommendations to be considered at the December Board meeting.
Don’t forget
about the end of daylight savings time on November 6, so set your clocks back
on before you go to bed on Saturday night.
As always, if
you should ever have any comments or concerns, please do not hesitate to call
me. My home phone number is (770) 499-9354.

Nominations for the
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors for the Lee’s Crossing Homes Association consists of seven individuals elected by the members of the Association, six who serve staggered two-year terms and one who serves an annual term as Treasurer.
Next February, homeowners will elect three Directors for two-year terms and the Treasurer for a one-year term, with all terms beginning March 1, 2012. Individual resident homeowners who are in good standing with the Association and who consent to serve as a Director or Treasurer may have their names submitted to the nominating committee for inclusion on the ballot. Nominees must be current on all assessments, must pay their 2012 assessments by the close of balloting on February 17, 2012, and must not be subject to any unsatisfied Association fines or liens.
The nominating committee consists of Walt Walker, Kevin Brown and Joe Fenton. Nominations must be in writing and must be received by the committee on or before November 21. Nominations must be mailed to the attention of the nominating committee at P.O. Box 1013, Marietta, GA 30061.

Will Clean and Paint Mailbox Posts
I am a 16 year old resident of Lee’s Crossing and am paying off a car. Please let me bleach, clean, and paint your mailbox post (my parents will supervise). I will use approved paint from the neighborhood. If you received a letter from the homeowner's association, please let me know the date you must have your mailbox painted to avoid a fine. $20 – Please call or text me (Matt Filer) at 404-259-6449. NOTE: It must be over 50 degrees to paint a mailbox - so call soon so that I can paint before it is too cold! And it can look nice for the holidays.
