Lee’s Crossing
Monthly
Newsletter June 2011
Dear Neighbors,
The Board members and I want to congratulate all the Lee’s Crossing High School and College graduates for their academic achievements in reaching these significant milestones in life. For all the graduates and parents with kids completing the school year for all grades, I hope you all have the chance to take a deep breath and relax for at least a little while. I want to thank David Geiger for collecting the names of all the graduates and having the banners made that we proudly display at the front entrance. There were so many graduates this year we needed two banners. I wish the grads all the best moving on to their next adventure in life.
With the publishing of this newsletter we are coming off the Memorial Day weekend. I hope everyone took pause for a moment to remember those that gave their lives for our nation. For the veterans in our neighborhood I personally thank you for your past service and I also thank all of the solders currently serving our country around the world.
The 2011 pool season is now in full swing with the opening day barbeque put on by the Social Committee. I hope everyone had a chance to go down to the pool and enjoy the food and facilities. The Social Committee does a great job every year with this event. Thank you to the Browns, Hunters, Garretts, Evans and all the other volunteers.
The rebuild of the tennis courts is nearly complete and they look fantastic. Just seeing the courts makes you want to pick up a racquet and get out there. We will enjoy these courts for many years. Thanks again to Walt Walker for all the time and work you put into making this happen. The facilities are looking great and this makes our neighborhood very attractive.
The swim team is also running in full gear. I have been impressed with the eagerness of the team members since hearing about the first practice. The air temperatures were in the low 60s and all the kids, young and old, wanted to swim laps anyway. I want to thank my wife Susan for being the team coordinator again and all the work she does to make this team happen. Go Cyclones!
I just want to remind everyone, and I know I speak for many,
to drive safely through the neighborhood.
The kids are out and we have many blind corners and rises. It would be tragic to have any accidents
inside the neighborhood. Parents with
young drivers (who would most likely not read this letter), please remind them
to be safe. There will be police patrols
at times as well looking for speeders.
I hope you all have a great start to the summer.

Lee’s Crossing Cyclones Swim Team
On your mark, get set, go! The swim team is off to a great start. We have over 120 swimmers this season. Our first week of afternoon practices was COLD, but the coaches could not keep our dedicated swimmers out of the water.
Morning practices will be held during the month of June as follows:
5/6’s 8:30 – 9:00 7/8’s 9:00 – 9:30
9/10’s 9:30 – 10:15 11 & up 10:15 – 11:00
We swim on Tuesday nights this year and will be hosting home meets on June 14th, 21st and 28th. The pool will close at 4pm on these days in order to allow time to set-up. Everyone is welcome to come by and check out the action.
Our End-of-Season party will be held on Wednesday June 29th. The pool will close at 5pm on this day in order to host the party for our swim team members and their families.

I Recommend……
Gordon & Beth Pfeiffer would once again like to recommend Capital One Pressure Washing, owned by Finnis Jones from here in Lee's Crossing. He has cleaned our driveway, walkway, gutters, deck, and this most recent time thoroughly cleaned our porch, removing all of the screens and cleaning the ceiling as well. He does great work at a reasonable price. Call him at 770-617-2463.
Ed and Linda Sweeney would like to HIGHLY recommend Randy’s Custom Painting (770-424-4114) for the outstanding work they did recently on our home. They painted the total inside and outside, and we are very pleased. They are easy to work with, always on time, considerate, helpful and very skilled at the work they do.
We would also like to recommend Mark McQuaig, a Lee’s Crossing resident, for his excellent help in restoring our lawn and keeping it looking good all year long. His home telephone number is 770-421-9652. Mark has cut, aerated, re-seeded our lawn and has trimmed our bushes. He always blows off all trimmings and makes everything look very nice.
We also recently employed The Pinestraw Company to deliver and install pine straw. They were the most reasonable price-wise that we’ve found and came promptly with very clean, fresh straw. Their phone number is 678-333-3428 (Pinestraw005@yahoo.com).
The Haltons would like to
recommend Precision Roofing - After a recommendation from a
friend we chose Precision to re-roof our home. They did a terrific job at an
affordable price. In fact, they did everything promised in their agreement --
and more, doing a thorough clean up and hauling off the old shingles. Contact
the owner, Patrick McDonald at 706-616-8941.
