The votes for the Speed Table issue were counted by the City on June 24th. The results - 285 ballots were returned or 62.8% exceeding the 50% needed for this to be a valid vote. 172 ballots were cast as "yes" in favor of the speed tables or 60.35% exceeding the 60% needed to approve the installation of the speed tables. (Note: the yes ballots include 4 ballots for 4 lots owned by the LCHA voted by the Board of Directors.) 113 ballots were cast as "no" or 39.65%. The Marietta City Council will vote to approve the vote at its July 10th meeting.
I appreciate the many who have maintained involvement from both sides of the issue. Though some will be disappointed by the outcome of the vote, my hope is all will come to support that which benefits the safety of all residents.
Please remember we have a large number of children and walkers in the neighborhood and we need to be careful as drivers. Saturday evening, June 15th, a driver lost control on Lee's Trace while negotiating the curve near the front of the neighborhood. The driver went up on the sidewalk, overcorrected and swerved across the street, striking a mailbox head on and coming within about 15 feet of striking two houses. The driver fled the scene, leaving a variety of car trim parts in one driveway. A police report has been filed and this is classified as a hit and run. If you have seen a car with front end damage, please email us and we will provide the information to the police.

Stressing firearm safety, this highly successful course will be offered as a two-night session taught by instructors, and a one-night session preceded by the student completing an on-line course. Both types include the Final Exam, proctored by the Instructors.
No functional firearms will be present, and the course is an excellent Firearms Safety course, whether you ever intend to hunt or not.
You must pre-register – The class, which is open to all, has limited seating.
Go on the Internet to: http://georgiawildlife.dnr.state.ga.us for details and free registration. The student will be asked for their SSAN, to be entered into the State’s secure database. If further details are desired, contact Ken Lowman at 770-426-8255.
Let's help our AL Burruss rising Kindergartner's have some familiar faces this fall! Join us at the Lee's Crossing Playground/Pool for a play date on July 28th at 3:30pm. We plan on setting up under the pavilion outside of the pool and letting the kids get to know each other prior to swimming.
Bring your cameras--we would like to take a group picture and make this a yearly party. How fun will it be to see how the kids grow and change over the years!! A few of us plan on grilling out and bringing a side to share with everyone. For more details please email Melissa Drehs at email@example.com.

Looking for Ranch Style Home
I’m looking for a ranch style home with a basement in our neighborhood. I have lived in Lee’s Crossing at 466 Lee’s Trace S.W. for twenty years and would like to down size and continue living here. If you’re thinking about moving, please contact me! Thanks. Danny Snyder

We are looking for someone, preferably in Lee's Crossing, who would be interested in doing some dog sitting from time to time at their home. We have a five year old mixed breed male dog. (45 lbs.) He has few needs. He gets fed once a day, would love to be walked, but it is not necessary, and he needs a fenced yard. He loves to be outside! He barks little, is well trained and stays off furniture. This would be an excellent job for a middle school student or older who would like to make some money and not have to do too much. Please call Mike White at 678-523-4400
