Welcome New Neighbors

We welcome the following family to the neighborhood:

Drew, Lynn, Daniel, Ryan, Anna, Whitney, and Elizabeth Fitzpatrick     540 Basil Court

Did you know:  Every 2 days – 960 women are informed they have breast cancer. Every 2 days – 220 women will die from breast cancer. Every 2 days – 5,478 women's breast cancer will go undiagnosed. Every 2 days – 8 men will learn they have breast cancer.

I am a neighbor and senior in Nursing School at Emory University. I have learned a great deal about cancer and I have cared for many patients diagnosed with cancer. Because of this I have set a personal goal to walk the 30 miles in the 2009 Atlanta 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer October 3-4. I have to raise $1000 in order to participate in the walk and I am hoping that you will make a donation to help me reach my goal.

To make a donation, go to my personal donation page: http://itsthejourney.kintera.org/anna .  Donations can be made by using a credit card or debit card on-line, or if you would rather not donate online, you can send me a check or cash or just print out the form found on my personal page and mail it in.

Thank you so much for your support!

Attention Pet Owners

From a Neighbor

This is a plea to the people who do not clean up after their dogs while walking them in the neighborhood.  This is so inconsiderate and I am asking you to please start carrying a plastic bag with you and clean up after your pet.  My yard is littered with other people’s dog poop.  I don’t know if this is from dogs being let out at night on their on or people walking their dogs and not cleaning it up but, either way, it is very unsanitary and so rude. I have given up trying to walk my dog in the area next to the tennis courts because that is also littered with dog poop.  Show some respect and clean up after your pets, please. And for those who let your dogs run at night, not only are you being inconsiderate but you are putting your pet in danger.

 Tennis

THURSDAY LADIES B6 ALTA TEAM is looking for players.  If you are interested or know of someone who may be interested, please call Diane Edwards at 770-575-0445.

Hello!  My name is Kudzu.  I’m a three-and-half-year-old beagle/basset mix.  My human is about to retire to a condominium that doesn’t accept children or pets, so I’ll so be interviewing applicants for a new human.  I’m neutered, I am up-to-date with all of my vaccinations, and I’m current on my flea, tick, and heartworm medications.  I’m a Capricorn who enjoys long walks and quiet evenings at home.  I have a small inheritance which includes an over-sized travel crate and an XXL Dogloo.  If you would like to schedule an interview please ask for Mike at 770-423-1635.  (I don’t answer the phone; it’s the opposable digits thing you know.)

Summer Tutoring

By St. Joesph's School Teacher.  Summer re-teaching, brush-up, review, etc. is again being offered here in Lee's Crossing.  Please contact Barb at 770-423-1895.  I can be flexible with hours, days, etc. - working around vacations and camps.  We can come up with a program for your child to best prepare him/her for the Fall school year, especially in areas of concern...or even just concentrate on Study Skills.  Many become "rusty" in the few short months of summer vacation !!!

Babysitting

Hi, my name is Larson Eckford and I have grown up in Lee’s Crossing.  If you have a need for babysitting during the day or evening, give me a call.  I love kids and they always have a good time with me. You can reach me at home (770) 421-9738 or email at Eckford3@att.net.

Will Clean Mailboxes

Matt and Emily Filer are residents of Lees Crossing and are saving for cars.  Let them bleach, clean, and paint your mailbox (parents will supervise).  They will use approved paint from the neighborhood.  If you received a letter from the homeowner's association, let them know the date you must have your mailbox painted to avoid fines. $20  Call 404-518-5809 or e-mail cfiler@bellsouth.net.

TRUE BLUE

We are fortunate to live in a small, school oriented community such as the City of Marietta.  MHS sporting events have often been called the "glue" that brings and holds our community together.  Joining True Blue is a great way to help support your hometown team, because every dollar goes back into the program.  Besides that, members of True Blue Club enjoy the following additional benefits:  invitation to the 16th annual BB&T tailgate celebration party catered by Five Guys Burgers on Aug. 28th, a pre-game buffet before each home game in Northcutt Stadium's True Blue Room and Skybox, access to the skybox for "dry viewing " during rainy games, premium parking provided next to the stadium with your sticker for all home games, your name mounted on the True Blue wall on home side of stadium, your name displayed in 2009 Blue Devil football program (subject to publication deadline), your name included on the Blue Devil website, and a nifty MHS Blue Devil decal for your car.  All the benefits are fun ways to join this great Marietta City community in support of MHS football, and it only costs $150 to join.  To join visit our website at www.bluedevil-football.com or email any questions to webmaster@bluedevil-football.com or send check to:  The Marietta Touchdown Club, PO Box  72, Marietta, 30061.

New this year, on August 1st we will have our first annual football kickoff party, held at The Oakton, the Kennesaw Ave. historic home of Will and Michelle Goodman. At this event we will have BBQ, a silent auction, a raffle, items of interest for sale and lots of fun with fellow Blue Devils! Let's get behind our "Home Team"! Hope to see you there!  Thank you and GO BIG BLUE!

I Recommend……

Tom Klein says “Based upon a recommendation in the June Newsletter, I called upon Tony Kabchef (kabchefpc@bellsouth.net/770-426-7208) to rid my PC of an operating problem.  Just as the previous writer suggested, he is a skilled individual and was able to put my machine on the right track.  It runs better now than when it was new.  Thank you for the tip, neighbor!”

Matt and Molly Isbell of 1067 Chestnut Hill Circle would like to recommend Krystal Clean Cleaning Service.  Guilla is wonderful and very trust worthy!  Our house stays sparkling clean and organized.  She can be reached at (678) 608-9513 or by email at krystalrubalcaba@yahoo.com .
