Lee’s Crossing

Monthly Newsletter                                                             December 2010

Season’s Greetings Neighbors!  I hope this letter finds everyone well, warm and ready for the holidays!

The 2011 Budget for the Lee’s Crossing HOA is included in this newsletter.  You will notice a $15.00 increase in the association dues for next year.  This is the first increase in three years.  With the rising cost of maintenance and utilities this could not be avoided any longer.  Last year, we projected that we would have to increase the dues in 2011 by $20.00.  Fortunately, we were able to defer $5.00 of that increase to 2012.  After 2012 we do not anticipate any more increases in dues for several years.  The Board meeting for December is scheduled for December 9th at 7:30 P.M.  All neighbors are welcome to come and share their comments on the budget.

Please remember that during the holidays the kids will be out school, so let’s everybody slow down and help keep them safe.

On behalf of the entire Board I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

As always, if you should ever have any comments or concerns, please do not hesitate to call me.  My home phone number is (770) 420-3484.  Take care, and I will see you around the neighborhood!

Dollar on Your Door

Lee’s Crossing’s annual “Dollar on Your Door” fundraiser will take place on the weekend of December 11-12.  This is our neighborhood’s way to say “Thank You” to our sanitation workers during the holidays.  These gentlemen help us out more than we realize throughout the year, and are very generous in what they collect!  Last year we collected over $1,100 for them, so let’s try and top that this year!  Please leave your contribution in an envelope taped to your front door on either Saturday, December 11 or Sunday, December 12 by 3 p.m.  Volunteers will collect your gifts between 3 and 5 p.m. each day.  If you would like to volunteer (great service project for IB students), please contact the Eckfords at 770-421-9738.  Thanks in advance for your help!

Important Information Regarding Newsletter Submissions

When submitting articles for the newsletter, please either attach to the e-mail as a separate Word document or type the article in the text of your e-mail.  Please DO NOT put a background in the e-mail as that does not copy and sometimes prevents copying of text as well.

In addition, please DO NOT use text boxes in documents as they also make copying documents more difficult.  Feel free to use any clip art you think appropriate for the article.

If you sent anything to my personal e-mail address after November 19, please be aware that I did not get it due to an e-mail crash.    I apologize for anything that may have been left out due to this problem.  My new e-mail address is trevathan.angelia@gmail.com.

Clubhouse Rentals

The clubhouse is reserved every weekend this month as well as several events scheduled during the week. If you have reserved the clubhouse this month please be responsible returning the keys in a timely manner. Read item 12 in your contract.  It states that a $25.00 fee will be assessed if not promptly returned. Note that just as you would like the keys well in advance of your event, so do the renters the next day.

Please carefully read the post rental checklist. You, as a renter, are responsible for the condition of the clubhouse (item 11).  This includes floors, rest rooms (including trash), counters, oven, refrigerator. We may deduct from your deposit any item on the post event checklist that is not completed.

Save Lids to Save Lives

My name is Molly Baker and I live in Lee’s Crossing and attend Marietta Middle School. I am working on a community service project this year.  Many people are fighting breast cancer and many have died from breast cancer. You can help! Yoplait is donating ten cents to Susan G. Komen for the Cure (breast cancer research) for each pink Yoplait yogurt lid submitted. I am collecting all of these pink lids from you and will submit them to Yoplait for my project. Please collect pink lids, rinse them off, and drop them in my mailbox at 703 Chartworth Circle. Sending in these lids can make a big difference.  Please have all lids to me by 12/26/10.

*Remember, these lids must be pink!!!
