Secret Santa Items Needed

Becky and Lily Kate Jordan are accepting donations to the AL Burruss annual Secret Shop sale.  This service is provided to the students of ALB so that they can shop for their family and friends in celebration of the holidays.  We are accepting items in great condition:  mugs, picture frames, unused candles, Christmas ornaments, children and adult books, unopened movies or cds, stuffed animals, etc.  As you clean out your home in preparation for the holidays, please consider donating these items to our school!  You may drop off any unwanted items at our house:  1146 Cedar Branch Court or at the AL Burruss front office.

Save Lids to Save Lives        See full size image

My name is Molly Baker and I live in Lee’s Crossing and attend the Marietta Sixth Grade Academy.  I am working on a community service project this year.  Many people are fighting breast cancer and many have died from breast cancer. You can help! Yoplait is donating ten cents to Susan G. Komen for the Cure (breast cancer research) for each pink Yoplait yogurt lid submitted. I am collecting all of these pink lids from you and will submit them to Yoplait for my project. Please collect pink lids, rinse them off, and drop them in my mailbox at 703 Chartworth Circle. Sending in these lids can make a big difference.  Please have all lids to me by 12/26/09.

*Remember, these lids must be pink!!!

Thank you!

Neighborhood Business Spotlight

If you would like to tell your neighbors about your business or recommend someone else’s business, please send us a BRIEF paragraph giving pertinent information along with contact information.  Submissions will printed first come – first serve each month, based on space.  Send your information to leescrossing@comcast.net.  Note:  Please keep descriptions to one SHORT paragraph in WORD format.  Do not send brochures, flyers or pictures as they will not be published.

Whether you are a beginner or just want to brush up on your game, one of your neighbors, Richard Ramsey, is offering tennis lessons now and in the spring.  He is available for private, semi-private, or group lessons.  Richard utilizes the PTR tennis method, used by tennis instructors worldwide.  Contact Richard at 404.428.0447 or r2tennisinstruction@gmail.com for availability & rates.  Let’s play tennis!

I Recommend……

Gordon and Beth Pfeiffer highly recommend Alan Murphy Window & Siding Company.  He is a small contractor (just Alan, his brother, and his father) that specializes in these 2 areas and does a great job.  He is reasonably priced, not pushy, answers all your questions, works fast, and cleans up when he is done.  We used him for windows and are very pleased, and I'm sure he does siding just as well.  Call him at 404-932-3296.

Nancy Boccadoro and Barry Hinkle would like to personally recommend Destry A. Griffis (Cell 404-660-4028, Home 770-924-1759) for refinishing existing hardwood floors with very little dust, and installation of new hardwood floors. What a beautiful kitchen we have after Destry’s ward work.

Rich and Donna Dedula on Meadowmist Way would like to recommend Tom Edwards, owner of Cobra Carpentry, LLC, for interior & exterior carpentry work.    Contact Tom at 920-627-4866 or cobracarpentryllc@hotmail.com.

The Jordans want to heartily recommend Blu Taverna on the square for any dining out occassion!  Ladies night out, family dinner or date night, the Blu Taverna offers delicious greek cuisine ranging from buttery spanikopita to tender pork kabobs to melt-in-your-mouth prailene cheesecake.  Try Blu Taverna on Mill Street (across from the coffee joint) for something fun and different.
