Dollar on Your Door

Lee’s Crossing’s annual “Dollar on Your Door” fundraiser will take place on the weekend of December 13-14.  This is our neighborhood’s way to say “Thank You” to our sanitation workers during the holidays.  These gentlemen help us out more than we realize throughout the year, and are very generous in what they collect!  Last year we collected over $750 for them, so let’s try and top that this year!  Please leave your contribution in an envelope taped to your front door on either December 13 or December 14.  Volunteers will collect your gifts between 3 and 5 p.m.  If you have any questions, please contact Michael Pfeiffer at 770-499-8015.  Thanks in advance for your help!

Be sure to book the clubhouse early for any events you are planning!  Call Melissa Hinchman at 404-839-1211.

                                  Holiday Howl!

(Atlanta, GA, November 18, 2008) Marietta resident Diana Black will sign her co-authored humor read WOOF: Women Only Over Fifty (Echelon Press/ISBN: 978-1-59080-606-7) at  Barnes & Noble, located at 2900 Peachtree Road NE on Wednesday, December 3, from 7 to 9 p.m.

This nonfiction look at middle-age is a perfect holiday gift for any woman doggedly trotting through middle age, itching for a good howl. WOOF: Women Only Over Fifty approaches the “joys” of expanding waistlines, empty nests and muddled memories with canine-themed humor, making it a delightful reminder for anyone over 50 to “ride with the wind in your face!”

Review Excerpt: “WOOF: Women Only Over Fifty is a light, humorous, entertaining, and certainly uplifting read. I finished reading it in two hours. Many of the segments are hilarious and made me laugh out loud - and mind you, I’m not 50 yet. This little book would make a great Christmas or birthday gift to anyone who loves a good laugh, but especially to those Woofers over 50.” – Mayra Calvani, Blog Critics Magazine, November 10, 2008

WOOF: Women Only Over Fifty (12.99) is available at Barnes & Noble, amazon.com, echelonpress.com and www.woofersclub.com.

You are invited to Roswell Street Baptist Church’s Musical Christmas program on December 14 at 6:00pm.  For more information call the church at 770-424-1900.
