Lee’s Crossing
Monthly
Newsletter August 2011
Dear Neighbors,
I hope you are
well and finding ways to stay cool. As
fast as the summer school break has come, so has the start of the new school
year. With the school season upon us
please be aware that the morning neighborhood traffic will change
significantly. Please watch for kids
walking to school and be especially careful at the front of the neighborhood
around Burris. There may be police out
front keeping an eye on traffic.
For those parents
that pick up their kids from Burris and park on Waterwind Way, please be sure
not to park on the new shrubs and flowers.
There has been a lot of work this year to clean up the front lot and
make it more presentable. I know it is
a lot to ask for the young kids not to stomp, hang or climb on the landscaping
in the front lot, but please talk to your kids that travel through this area about
being considerate of the plantings and small trees. Parents, please park at the curb or
designated space. There is not
sufficient parking for everyone to park there to meet their children, and
please be considerate of the resident’s access to their driveways.
I have talked
with the Marietta City Engineers about some of our streets that are in need of
paving. As it stands now, no work will
be done this year. The engineers have
identified three of the six specific streets I presented that will be put in
the 2012 work plan. These streets are
Laurel Field Lane, Russet Court and Briarmeade Drive. The earliest the work would be done is late
April 2012. I will provide an update
next year when a schedule may be in place with the city.
My last item is
that we will soon be moving the trash collection area at the clubhouse to the
bottom end of the parking lot and screening it from the residents across the
street with shrubs. This moves the trash
area away from the well and also accomplishes the much needed reconstruction of
the collection area. In addition, there will be some minor construction in the
clubhouse entrance to close off the kitchen area and allow access only to the
restrooms when needed.
Have a great rest
of the summer and a good start to the school year!
If you should
ever have any comments or concerns, please do not hesitate to call me. My home
phone number is (770) 499-9354.
