Newsletter August 2009
Hello
Neighbors!
I
hope that everyone has had a great a summer!
It is hard to believe that school is right around the corner. On that note, please remember that with the
kids going back there will be an increased amount of foot and bike traffic
early in the mornings; so let’s all watch our speed when we are headed off to
work.
We
have had some complaints this past month about littering in the neighborhood,
particularly up towards the front entrance.
I am sure that the majority of these offenders are from outside of the
subdivision. However, lets all remind
our kids not to leave anything besides their footprints as they walk through
the neighborhood!
One
last note: There have been several
reports of coyotes in the neighborhood this past month. Some of these have occurred in the daylight
hours, so please keep an eye on your pets and small children.
As always, if you ever have any comments or
concerns, please do not hesitate to call me.
My home phone number is (770) 420-3484.
Take care, and I will see you around the neighborhood!

Volleyball for
Fall
Lees Crossing will start hosting a Sunday afternoon volleyball league. We will start up in mid August after the kids return to school. Tentatively, we will play between 3ish and 6ish and it will run for 6-8 weeks. I'd like to have enough players to make it fun and competitive. We will accept some players from outside our neighborhood so please forward this to your friends. Our social committee will provide food and drinks on occasion during the season. If you are interested or know anyone who may be interested, please email (bgarrett@lovett.org ) or call (770-425-8970) Beth Garrett by August 15th. I will also have a sign up sheet at our Lees Crossing Mexican Buffet/Team Trivia event on August 8th.
To all Lee's
Crossing Women (and other friends if you wish):
Wonder how to live in a culture that is so driven by wealth and materialism?
Interested in End Times Prophecy and want to know what the Bible says about End Times?
Come and join your neighbors as we participate together in Beth Moore's Daniel Bible study at the clubhouse on Sunday evenings from 6:45 - 8:45. What a great study for what is going on around us right now! This 12 week study is split up into 2-6 week sections. The first 6 weeks talks about how we live victoriously in a world of materialism (and how we teach our kids to). The last 6 weeks talks about what the Bible says about end times prophecy. It is a great entry level study for those who may not have opened a Bible - and it is equally great for seasoned believers. I don't know of a better study that can address both needs.
The first 45 minutes will be in discussion on homework from the week before (homework takes about 1 hour each week) and getting to know one another - the last hour is a video with Beth Moore talking about the subject. You don't need past Bible knowledge to do this study. The workbook is easy to do - whether you have done 100 bible studies or not one. For those of you who are not familiar with Beth Moore's studies, she is very entertaining to watch and these videos are chock full of information. Definitely NOT boring.
In addition to learning about this most interesting book of the Bible, this is a great opportunity to meet other women in our neighborhood and really get to know each other!
We will begin on August 16th at 6:45pm!! There is no
cost except for your need to purchase the Beth Moore Daniel study guide which
is generally around $15. Depending on the numbers we have, I might have
these available on the 16th for purchase at the clubhouse. Or, you can
purchase the guide on your own at Lifeway near

Pet Looking for Home
Hello! My name is Kudzu. I’m a three-and-half-year-old beagle/basset mix. My human is about to retire to a condominium that doesn’t accept children or pets, so I’ll so be interviewing applicants for a new human. I’m neutered, I am up-to-date with all of my vaccinations, and I’m current on my flea, tick, and heartworm medications. I’m a Capricorn who enjoys long walks and quiet evenings at home. I have a small inheritance which includes an over-sized travel crate and an XXL Dogloo. If you would like to schedule an interview (or see my picture) please call and ask for Mike at 770-423-1635. (I don’t answer the phone; it’s the opposable digits thing you know.)

Bill and Irene Dickman recommend another neighbor, Armand Fernandes (770-422-4116) for lawn cutting, trimming and brush removal. He did a fantastic job for us on our project at a bargain price too.
Gordon Pfeiffer would like to add his voice to the several
people in recent months who have recommended Tony Kabchef (kabchefpc@bellsouth.net/770-426-7208)
for help in resolving PC issues. “Not only did he do what I asked him to
do (expand my daughter's laptop disk space), he found and corrected several
other problems. His rates are very reasonable and he comes to your home
to do the work. I highly recommend him.”
