Lee’s Crossing

Monthly Newsletter                                                                   August 2008

From the President:

The Board has engaged David Waldrep as our new community manager for the enforcement of architectural controls and community standards with his starting date August 1.

David is a long time resident of Lee’s Crossing, a prior member of the Board and a past President of the Association. He has a wealth of experience in general contracting and association management. David will also be taking the Community Asset Manager course offered by the Georgia State Board of Realtors.

We expect that David will bring a level of energy, organization and caring for the neighborhood that has been missing of late.

David’s contact information will be provided later in this newsletter. The Director on the Board responsible as liaison with the manager will remain Erroll Eckford.

Please remember our local schools reopen on August 7, 2008 and be mindful, particularly in the early morning, of children either walking to school or waiting on buses.

On August 7 our pool hours during the week (Monday to Friday) change so that the pool is open from 9-1 and 4-8. On Saturdays and Sundays, the pool is open from 10-9 and from 12-9, respectively. Labor Day is the last day the pool is open and the hours are from 11-9.

                                                                        Sincerely,

                                                                        Walt Walker

LABOR DAY POOL PARTY

MONDAY, September 1st

Poolside from 1pm to 4pm

Come enjoy the music, your neighbors and the free hotdogs, hamburgers, beer and soda from your neighborhood Social Committee.

I wouldn’t be surprised if a volleyball game gets under way.  Newcomers are always welcome.

There will also be a mixed doubles tennis mixer that morning from 10am to noon.  The first 12 men and 12 women who sign up will play (must be 18 or older).  Contact Gordon Pfeiffer at 770-883-3604 (or gordon.pfeiffer@comcast.net) as soon as possible to reserve your spot.

Around the Neighborhood

Moms and Dads... be sure to check the lost and found area at the swimming pool for shoes, shirts, towels, etc.  At the end of the year, all items not claimed will be donated to a local charity.

Other Social News

The July 4th  pool event was low key, but very successful.  Keep your eye out for a fall tail-gate party as well as possibly a wine and cheese tasting social before our big New Years Eve blow-out.
