I hope with this reading you are doing well and enjoying our early spring. The election results are in for the three Board positions and the Treasurer position that was up for renewal. With this new Board, we say goodbye to Steve Young with a huge thank you for 10+ years of service. Steve informed us last fall that he would not seek to renew his position this year. He has served as Secretary during his tenure and will be greatly missed. However, the Board welcomes a new member, Joe Fenton, who will be our new Secretary. Walt Walker, who will continue as Director of Swim and Tennis, and Kevin Brown, Director of Social Activities, were both re-elected. Both are continuing their long time service to the neighborhood. Angela Ford was re-elected as treasurer and is now serving her second year on the Board.
With the close of the March 10th Board meeting, Jim Martin stepped down from the President’s position, but is staying on the Board in the At-Large position. Thank you Jim for your leadership and your commitment to the Lee’s Crossing community. I, Brad Herr, was voted in by the Board to be the new President.
For those that don’t know me, my family and I have been residents of Lee’s Crossing for 20 years. Many of you may know my wife Susan, who runs the LC swim team and is out walking most every evening. Together, we have raised two wonderful daughters, Caitlin and Chelsea. With both girls in college now, I have a little more time to commit to the community. My goal as President is to continue along the path of my predecessors taking care of the business of the neighborhood, and maintaining the clubhouse, swim and tennis facilities as cost effectively as possible because these all add significant value to our homes. This means getting the best value for the dollars spent, which is not always the cheapest option available. The Board as a whole will also be watching out for external events, such as Traton Homes taking over the development just outside the front of Lee’s Crossing, that could also impact our property values.
Spring is here, trees are in bloom and the days are getting warmer. I see and hear many of you out trimming, mowing and catching up with those pesky leaves. The tennis court reconstruction is coming along on schedule I am happy to say. I know a lot of tennis players can’t wait to get out on the new courts. The old courts have suffered badly the last two winters, but have served us well over the past 30 yrs. Thank you Walt for all your time researching and getting bids for all the options we had to consider for this reconstruction.
If you should ever have any comments or concerns, please do not hesitate to call me. My home phone number is (770) 499-9354
That is it for now. See you all around the neighborhood!

The annual neighborhood yard sale will be on Saturday, April 30, from 8am to 1pm.
Ads will be placed in the Marietta and Atlanta papers. Signs on Whitlock Avenue will also be put out directing people to Lee's Crossing. Each home having a sale may put out their own signs, but please take them down after the sale. In past years, residents of Lee's Crossing have had a
preview of the sales the night before. Good luck to everyone who participates.
