Lee’s Crossing Cyclones

Swim Team

The 2010 swim team is getting organized.  Registration will be held at the clubhouse on Monday, April 12th from 5 to 7 pm.  New participants, from 5 to 18 years of age (as of June 1st) are always welcome.  The cost is just $25 per swimmer for those living in the neighborhood and $75 per swimmer for those outside of Lee’s Crossing.

New suits are available this year and may be purchased at registration.

After school practices will begin May 17th.  Morning practices will begin Monday May 24th.  Meets will be held on Monday evenings this year (except for the first week when we will swim on Thursday June 3rd).  We will have three home meets scheduled for June 7th, 21st and 28th.

Parent support is required!   It is mandatory for parents to work at least one full meet or two half meets.  Many work much more and their efforts are greatly appreciated!!

Registration packets – including more information about practice and meet schedules will be emailed out to last year’s team.  This information will also be available at registration.

If you would like to join us please contact me for a packet or further information.

The annual neighborhood yard sale will be on Saturday, May 15th, from 8am to 1pm. Ads will be placed in the Marietta and Atlanta papers. Signs on Whitlock Avenue will also be put out directing people to Lee's Crossing. Each home having a sale may put out their own signs, but please take them down after the sale. In past years, residents of Lee's Crossing have had a preview of the sales the night before. Good luck to everyone who participates!

Lee's Crossing swimming pool life guarding: As you may recall over the past two summers, our neighborhood High School/ College aged lifeguards start school in early August and have limited time or are not available at all to work at our pool. This year will not be any different. This is a situation that most pools face all over Atlanta. If you are a parent/adult that would be interested in getting certified to be a lifeguard to help, please contact Walt Walker or any Board member about this opportunity.

For information on Lifeguard certification, please contact the Mountain View Aquatic Center at 770-509-4925. Additional information is available at http://prca.cobbcountyga.gov/documents/aquatic%20school%20brochure%202010.pdf

Free Plants

I need to reduce the number of canna plants that I have in my yard.  They grow to about 4 feet high, have large glossy green leaves and red blooms at the top.  The cultivar is 'The President'.  I have many to give away.  If interested, call me at 770-427-1462, e-mail me at wadegarnto@bellsouth.net, or come by our home at 552 Trailwood Lane.  My name is Wade.

Will Clean and Paint Mailbox Posts

I am a 16 year old resident of Lee’s Crossing and am paying off a car.  Please let me bleach, clean, and paint your mailbox post (my parents will supervise).  I will use approved paint from the neighborhood.  If you received a letter from the homeowner's association, please let me know the date you must have your mailbox painted to avoid a fine. $20 – Please call or text me (Matt Filer) at 404-259-6449.

I Recommend……

David Walker, Jesse Erickson and Nick Turner highly recommend using Betty Aguilar Cleaning Services for your home and/or business needs.  Betty does an excellent job and is very thorough and professional. Her services are of the highest quality and she has been utilized by several Lee's Crossing residents for over two years. She has excellent references from the neighborhood. Call for a free estimate. 770-655-1093.

Gordon Pfeiffer would like to recommend Finnis Jones of Capitol One Exterior Pressure Cleaning.  I have used him twice to pressure wash my driveway, and most recently to do some exterior cleaning on my home, and he has done a great job each time.  He is very reasonably priced, is fully insured, does the work right away, and lives right here in the neighborhood.

Call him at 770-617-2463.
