Lee’s Crossing
Monthly
Newsletter April 2008
From the President:
Dear Residents,
Spring has arrived and the schools recess for spring break on April 4 and reopen on April 14. Please be extra careful driving during the break as you can expect children to be at play.
Lawns and shrubbery are coming out from their winter dormancy and will soon need attention. Unlike last year, homeowners will have a limited ability to water existing plants without resorting to the use of “gray water”. For details on when, how, and if, see the website www.outdoorwateruse.com.
We all need to express our appreciation to Erroll Eckford for serving with distinction as Association President for the last 2 ½ years. Erroll is remaining on the Board and will serve as the chair of the ACC for the coming year. Officers for the new year include Jim Martin as Vice President, Steve Young as Secretary and Noel Follrath as Treasurer. Kevin Brown will serve as the director overseeing social activities and Carl Trevathan, as a new director, will serve in various areas.
We will soon be uncovering the pool for the spring and firing up the pumps and filters in a maintenance mode. We will, of course, open on the Memorial Day weekend and will have further details in next month’s newsletter.
We look forward to serving you in the coming year.
Sincerely,
Walt Walker

Being
Neighborly
Just
a friendly reminder for those of us who walk our dogs around the neighborhood –
please carry a plastic bag with you to clean up after your pet!
Please
Note
If you know of a neighborhood resident who would like a copy of the newsletter, but is homebound or UNABLE to get to the clubhouse mailbox and does not have access to the internet or e-mail, please drop us a note with their name and address to leescrossing@comcast.net. We will make arrangements to get a monthly copy to them.
The annual neighborhood yard sale will be on

SOCIAL
NEWS
WANTED: Someone from the neighborhood with ability to hook up his/her
music system/ipod into the pool speaker system...with an appropriate
variety...to play music during summer pool parties. Call Janet Duncan
770-427-1502
WANTED: Helpers with grilling our big BBQ feast for Memorial Day (Sat.
before) party...and hot dogs/hamburgers during Labor Day. Call Janet
Duncan for Labor Day and Phil Wooten for Memorial Day.
WANTED: Any neighbor to offer a hand during serving and especially clean
up of neighborhood pool parties (we on
Social Committee are volunteering neighbors too).
WANTED:: Neighborhood feedback on 2008 plans:
I'm so happy to have additional
volunteers on the Committee. We had a successful Superbowl party...Thanks
Kevin Brown. We had an eventful Easter egg hunt too. Now we look
forward to summer!
May 24th at 1pm: We're planning a big BBQ like we had years
ago...this is a great time for the "guys" of the neighborhood to
catch up while providing our wonderful meal.
July 4th Is often a hit or miss: Social Committee
decided to not have anything. Janet Duncan is willing to ensure propane
is full if people want to grill their own and she/Social Committee can provide
beer, soda, water, chips and cookies....maybe even some fun kid relays and
games like last year. Please call Janet with your input!!
July 26th and Aug 23rd : Depending on interest at
7/26, we hope to have two ADULT DIVE IN MOVIES. The Social Committee is
planning two adult pool parties during these two evenings when you can swim,
socialize, and watch a movie at the same time. Of course there'll be plenty
of refreshments.
Sept. 1st Labor Day pool party
Oct. 11th Wine and cheese social (possibly in conjunction
with a tailgate party if there's a big game to watch).
Dec. 31st Our big New Year's Eve party at the
clubhouse. Mock casino night, open bar, DJ and dancing. I'm really
surprised every adult doesn't make a point to come to this. You get so
much more for your money: it's safe since you can walk home. It's fun visiting with all your
neighbors. And YES, you can invite family and friends...it just costs a
bit more for non-residents.
Attention Fellow Homeowners
Do you have unresolved service issues with Comcast?
Unfortunately I have become more educated about Comcast than I ever wanted to be.
I have developed some resources to work around 1-800-Comcast.
I only use this when the normal channels fail. Call or e-mail me & perhaps I can help.
